At the beginning of the term I didn’t know anything about
animation or the programs we were going to use in class. I didn’t expect to be
very good at it but I hoped to at least learn how. There are a few things I
still haven’t figured out but I think I did okay with the animations. I had a
mishap yesterday where my file wouldn’t open so I had to use an older save but
I was able to get it back to roughly the same point today, if a bit shorter and
lower quality. Not that it was great to begin with. I would like to continue
working with animation and try to improve, maybe try 3d modeling and animation,
but I’ve proven over the past couple years that I can’t handle 8am classes so I’ll
have to try on my own. I am glad I got to experience animating in this class
despite my poor performance and constant absence.
I
started the term not having any idea what to animate and that continued until
halfway through the final project, when I knew exactly what I wanted to happen.
The first project is the one I’m most happy with despite having completely
winged it. I might go back at some point and make it smoother and fix some
weird lumps on the cats, maybe add more to it. I think the most important skill
in regard to animation I learned was making a story board. That really helped
with the final project. I wish I could have included all the scenes in the
story board but between procrastination and the loss of progress I had to
settle with how it is now.
